A singularity is a point in space where matter is compressed into an extremely small region, creating extremely strong gravity. It is believed to exist at the center of black holes.

As matter collapses inward, it becomes denser and denser. In theory, this process continues until the density becomes infinite and the size approaches zero.

At this point, the laws of physics break down, meaning our current models can no longer describe what is happening. Singularities represent a fundamental limit of our understanding of the universe.
