The General Theory of Relativity, proposed by Albert Einstein in 1915, describes gravity not as a traditional force but as the bending of space and time caused by mass.
Massive objects such as stars and planets distort the fabric of space-time around them. Other objects moving through this curved space follow these distortions, which we observe as gravitational attraction.
This theory explains phenomena that Newton’s gravity could not, such as the bending of light near massive objects and the behavior of extremely dense objects like black holes.
