Plasma
The fourth state of matter

Plasma is a state of matter formed when a gas is given enough energy that electrons are stripped away from atoms, creating a mixture of charged particles. Unlike solids, liquids, or ordinary gases, plasma responds strongly to electric and magnetic fields and can conduct electricity.
It makes up most of the visible universe, including stars, nebulae, lightning, and auroras. Although less familiar on Earth, plasma plays a central role in astrophysics, space science, and many modern technologies.
