If you have a gas, lower it’s temperature and it will eventually become a liquid.

If you lower the temperature even more, it will become a solid.

Now the interesting part…

In quantum mechanics, subatomic particles can be thought of as waves.

If you keep lowering the temperature to near absolute zero, these wavelengths expand and start to overlap each other. This is what is known as Bose-Einstein condensate.
