The Basic Anatomy of Black Holes

Light is the fastest thing in the universe, and yet the gravitational force of black holes is so strong, that not even light can escape it... Since light is the fastest thing in the universe, this means that once you cross a certain point, absolutely nothing can escape it. This is known as the Event Horizon.
You might have noticed that Black Holes seem to have a kind of “disk” around them. This is called the Accretion Disk. This disk is formed from material such as gas and dust that orbits the black hole.
One of the most interesting things about Black Holes is the Singularity. The singularity is the center of a black hole, and it’s full of mysteries. Physicists say that the singularity is “a point of infinite density”. Essentially this means that our understanding of physics breaks down...
There are tons of mysteries surrounding Black Holes
Some think that entire universes exist inside black holes
Other think that black holes act as “portals” by connecting to white holes
