Artificial Evolution

Every single living thing on Earth today is related to the first living thing. This is because of Darwinian evolution.

But now, things may be about to change…

We humans have reached the point of understanding the code of life, DNA. And we are now starting to modify it.

We are slowly learning how to use it to our advantage, like for example fixing mutations.

But how much is it too much? We could eventually artificially evolve ourselves. We could make ourselves smarter, immune to diseases, and even stop aging.

If we learn how to control it completely, we might look like a completely different species, we would look like gods to our ancestors.

We could even create new animals and break the chain of Darwinian evolution, a new species without any ancestor.

We are not even close to this reality at this time, but it is a possibility for the future. What do you think about it?
